ASHA TEXAS STATE PLEASURE HIGH POINT AWARD RULES

NTASHA (North Texas American Saddlebred Horse Association) is proud to be sponsoring the 2008 ASHA (American Saddlebred Horse Association) Texas State Pleasure Horse Awards.

ASHA provides attractive trophies for the state champions and pictures of the winners are published in The American Saddlebred magazine.

The following rules will apply:

Awards are earned by the following High Point System which will be kept by Janie Hamilton:

Points are awarded according to the number of ribbons and the number of the horses in the class--for example:

8 Ribbons with 8 or More Horses in the Class
1st Place--8 Points
2nd Place--7 Points
3rd Place--6 Points
4th Place--5 Points
5th Place--4 Points
6th Place--3 Points
7th Place--2 Points
8th Place--1 Point
 
8 Ribbons with only 3 Horses
1st Place--3 Points
2nd Place--2 Points
3rd Place--1 Point
 
Both qualifying classes and championships will be awarded points.
 
Championship Classes will earn 3 bonus points per placing along with the regular points--for example:
 
8 Ribbons with 8 or More Horses in the Class
1st Place--8 Points + 3
2nd Place--7 Points + 3
3rd Place--6 Points + 3
4th Place--5 Points + 3
5th Place--4 Points + 3
6th Place--3 Points + 3
7th Place--2 Points + 3
8th Place--1 Point + 3
 
8 Ribbons with only 3 Horses
1st Place--3 Points + 3
2nd Place--2 Points + 3
3rd Place--1 Point + 3

Horses must be purebred American Saddlebreds registered with ASHA, ASHA of Canada, or ASHA of Great Britain (except for academy classes).

Owner must be a member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association and the recorded owner of the horse during the award year.
